Shell depressed, almost flat. Strong, triangular spines on periphery of whorls. Size and number of spines very variable. Shell base with a few beaded, flattened cords surrounding umbilical region; cords not extending to spines. Color variable, but often cream-colored, mottled with grayish-green. Aperture nacreous, with strong metalic appearance. Size of the illustrated shell is 22 mm; it represents the first record of this species on Sanibel. Found by Jeff Oths on the Holidays of 2009.
