Teinostomatids of Southwest Florida

Another one for the micromollusk fans out there! Here are some of the vitrinellas in the microgastropod family Teinostomatidae from Southwest Florida: 1 – High-spired Vitrinella (Teinostoma altum); 2 – Biscayne Vitrinella (Teinostoma biscaynense); 3 – Keeled -base Vitrinella (Teinostoma carinicallus); 4 –  Hidden-spire Vitrinella (Teinostoma cryptospira); 5 – Uncertain Vitrinella (Teinostoma incertum);  6 – Glossy Vitrinella (Teinostoma obtectum); 7 – Small-callus Vitrinella (Teinostoma parvicallum). (The family Teinostomatidae is closely related to the Tornidae; check out the tornids of Southwest Florida here.)
