About the Event
Florida United Malacologists is one-day gathering typically includes presentations by researchers, enthusiasts, citizen scientists, educators, and students, and covers a broad swath of mollusk-related topics. This year’s event will include 15-minute presentations covering a broad swath of topics in malacology (the study of mollusks). The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum hosted the first FUM in 2010, and the event has been held also at the Florida Museum of Natural History, the University of South Florida, State of Florida's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, and Stetson College.
